Dr. Joy Tao is a Board-Certified Dermatologist with Advanced Fellowship Training in Lasers and Cosmetic Dermatology. She specializes in medical, cosmetic, and surgical dermatology, with expertise in laser treatments, injectables, skin cancer treatment, acne, hair loss, and aesthetic rejuvenation.

Dr. Tao earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame and her medical degree from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine, where she graduated with honors in research. She completed her dermatology residency at Loyola University Medical Center and served as Chief Resident.

Following residency, Dr. Tao completed a prestigious fellowship in Cosmetic Dermatologic Surgery through the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery at the world-renowned Laser & Skin Surgery Center of New York. There, she trained under internationally recognized laser pioneer Dr. Roy Geronemus and gained extensive experience with the most advanced laser and cosmetic technologies available today.

During her fellowship, Dr. Tao served as a sub-investigator on numerous clinical trials involving injectables and energy-based devices. She has lectured nationally and published extensively on medical, cosmetic, and laser dermatology.

In addition to her private practice, Dr. Tao serves on staff at the Veteran Affairs Hospital, where she treats veterans with complex dermatologic conditions and helps train future dermatologists.

Dr. Tao specializes in advanced aesthetic treatments, including neuromodulators, dermal fillers, biostimulators, laser resurfacing, vascular and pigment lasers, laser hair removal, skin tightening, body contouring, cellulite treatments, and acne scar revision. Her special interests include acne and traumatic scarring, birthmarks, and laser tattoo removal.
